The Little Compton School Committee would like to congratulate this year's scholarship recipients!
Ruth Coombs Bogle Memorial Scholarship
There is no doubt that Rowan Manchester will share her compassion and knowledge with those in need of medical care. While maintaining excellent grades in honors classes throughout high school, she volunteered at her church, participated in a wide variety of extra curricular activities ranging from Varsity Cheerleading to the National Honor Society, and helped out at Wilbur & McMahon (where she was a grade 8 valedictorian) by judging the science fair. Rowan plans to attend either Salve Regina University or URI, and pursue a
career in health care. Specifically, Rowan wishes to specialize in Labor and Delivery, and earn her Master’s degree to work as a Nurse Practitioner. Eventually, she hopes to earn her Doctorate.

James Webster Coombs Memorial Scholarship
Caroline Sullivan is an excellent student whose extracurricular activities included being an Executive Student Ambassador for 4 years, peer mentoring, leading retreats, and managing four theatrical productions over two years. This was while playing a sport each year, and performing community service. We could often see her here at Wilbur & McMahon volunteering at the after-school library program. Caroline’s drive to lead, teach and nurture has led her to pursue a career in Nursing with a goal of becoming a Labor and Delivery or Pediatric Nurse.
Leslie Briggs Coombs Memorial Scholarship
Rose Manning has excelled as a student and three-season athlete, earning NEPSAC (New England Preparatory School Athletic Council) honors for Lacrosse. She also played basketball and field hockey for all four years of high school. Rose plans to attend Middlebury College and study Economics. Her ultimate goal is to work in an environment where finance and global policy

Doris E. Simmons Memorial Educational Scholarship
Colby Nixon’s career goal after attending the University of Vermont is to become a mechanical engineer. Academically strong and active in lacrosse, basketball and the ski and snowboard club, Colby also explored different parts of the world through service projects. This international experience took him to Costa Rica and Vietnam, where he undoubtedly saw the global value of engineering.
Anthony Raposa Scholarship
Timothy Roberts has always been interested in aviation. This has led him to pursue his private pilot license at T.F. Green International Airport and seek out mentorship opportunities with JetBlue and FedEx. In addition to volunteering
for his church, Timothy keeps his feet on the ground as a lifeguard. He plans to attend Embry Riddle Aeronautical University and become a commercial pilot.
